Start Oslo Sticks
Top wax techs have been mixing stick wax and klisters for years with winning results. The messiness of doing this has been intimidating to not-professional grip waxers, and when Start came to market with factory pre-mixes of their synthetic stick waxes and their renowned Universal Wide klister, they were quickly adopted.
While other wax companies are starting to catch up with offering these klister/hard wax mixes, the Start Oslo waxes have a distinct advantage in that their performance is widely understood and valued.
Best used in old snow when the tracks are hard or glazed but not quite fully klister conditions.
Green, aka "Super" for temperatures -7°C and -15°C
Blue, aka "Extra" for temperatures -2°C and -8°C
Violet, aka "Special" for temperatures +2°C and -3°C
For skiers in the PNW the Blue and especially the Violet Oslo waxes are must haves.
Application hint - the usual crayon method will almost always leave a mess with areas with waaay too much wax and not enough on other sections, frustrating to cork out. Instead, push the stick straight onto the base, and pull off using a twisting method. Dab and twist at appropriate intervals.
