Start Klisters
While Start makes an entire line of very good klisters, we can't stock everything. But for us in the wet Pacific Northwest there are two Start klisters that are invaluable.
Universal Wide is likely the most renowned of the Start klisters, so much so that for race wax techs in almost any snow climates this is likely to be in their kit. "Wide" is operative, and this universal klister tends to work in colder conditions than other universal klisters. The ability to tolerate fine grained snow is also remarkable. These two characteristics make this one of the first klisters to test in new, damp and glazing snow around zero. 10C/-5C
Special is a klister formulated specifically for conditions around zero, and like Uni Wide it also has a tolerance for new fine grained snow. 2C/-2C
Hint - when Zero skis are being considered, try mixing Universal Wide with Special klister, then add an appropriate cover wax.
