Rex NFX Powders 20g
A competitive step up from the already successful Rex NF race paraffins, the NFX series is based on a NF-level micronized Rex Power Polymers wax blend, with added extra N-Kinetic™ nanoparticles that are embedded in the surrounding powder matrix. In addition to improved speed the additives improve resistance to contamination, ensuring that that speed is durable.
In addition to the usual Rex color/temperature spread, also look for the extra durable base layers from the NFX Sisu series (listed separately).
Important to note the high iron temperature needed of 180°C.
NFX 11 Yellow: Mixed and old snow that is wet or moist, between 10°C and -5°C (50°F and 23°F)
NFX 21G Black: Specific to new snow at relatively higher humidity, between 3°C and -8°C (37°F and 17°F). A Pacific NW top choice for damp falling snow.
NFX 21 Blue: All snow types, between 2°C and -10°C (28°F and 14°F). A monster of a glide wax, reliable when testing can’t be done. Tolerates changing conditions well.
NFX 41 Pink/Green: Old, man-made and abrasive snow at the extremes, between +10 and -20°C (50F and -4°F). The UHW Ultra Hard Wax which was previously only available in liquid form can now be ironed in. Durable in hard spring crust and fast when it turns to coarse slush, and also fast in extremely cold abrasive and slow conditions.
