What a pleasure to return to posting ski waxing geek articles on a new platform!

Many years ago I would send out an email blast to a short list of skiers who had interest in techno-geek information about skis and ski waxing.

Me? I started coaching ski racing, and selecting and servicing race skis for athletes in the early 1980’s.

Much of what I employed as a knowledge base was more than a bit dogmatic, but after too many failures of commonly employed methods of the time I took a step back and started to engage my previous background in chemistry and empirical test methodology to build a personal data base.

As for the name, WaxWallah? I’m indebted to my dear friend Kirti for that moniker.

She also provided me with a favorite term for a good grip wax application, the “layer cake”.
